CPM or Per Video?

There are two ways to pay clippers, and they solve different problems.

Per Views (CPM)

Pay rises with performance. Rp 5,000 per 1,000 views means a video with 100,000 views earns Rp 500,000, and one with 5,000 views earns Rp 25,000.

Fits when: reach is the goal. You pay for attention actually earned, not for effort spent.

The risk: budget can drain faster than expected if one video takes off. That is what a per-video cap is for.

Per Video

One flat amount for every qualifying video. Rp 50,000 per video means ten videos cost Rp 500,000, whether each got 2,000 views or 200,000.

Fits when: volume and consistency are the goal. You need a set amount of content to a clear spec, and individual performance is not the point.

The risk: you pay the same for a great video and a mediocre one. A minimum-views threshold helps — a video only pays once it clears the bar, so content nobody watched does not drain the budget.

Side by side

| | Per Views (CPM) | Per Video |

|---|---|---|

| Payment | Scales with views | Fixed |

| When paid | Gradually, each sync | Once, after clearing minimum views |

| Best for | Reach, awareness | Volume, spec'd content |

| Budget surprises | Possible, if something goes viral | Almost none |

| Cost predictability | Low | High |

How to choose

Ask one question: are you buying attention, or buying content?

If you need people to see your message, pay per views. Every rupiah is tied to eyes that actually landed on it.

If you need twenty vertical videos for next week's product catalogue, pay per video. You know the cost from the start.

What usually goes with it

The per-video scheme rarely stands alone. Three settings normally accompany it:

  • Minimum views — filters out content nobody watched.
  • Max videos per clipper — stops one person absorbing the entire quota.
  • Minimum followers — makes sure the video is posted from an account with an audience.

Without those three, per-video is easy to game: ten low-effort videos from an empty account still get paid in full.

Not sure? Start with CPM. It aligns cost with outcome by default, and you can add a per-video cap to control the downside.
